Most of us would like some area of our lives to be different to one degree or another. The question is, do we set up a comfortable camp with the majority, or do we take a walk in the wilderness of our soul to discover our innate power to create the change we desire? Today happens to be New Year’s Day and the air is teeming with hopes of this year being different or better than what we’ve experienced before.
What is it for you? Body, marriage, job, finances, all the above? If you have the desire for change, you have the power to be the changemaker. It just dawned on me how many times I’ve seen a problem but expected the one oblivious to it to do something about it. Read that again and see if it rings true for you as well.
While I’m inspired by the words of Bruce Lee, Be like water, a ripple effect doesn’t happen without an object breaking the surface. Now more than ever, the world needs people like you willing to be the change, start the movement, shine their light. You can break the tension of untapped potential for yourself and others. Be the rock!
Vibrant and healthy rivers have movement. There is an ebb and flow, a give and take. Stagnation is a result of dams being built. It doesn’t matter if your dams are physical, emotional, or mental. The result is you sitting in the dark murky water wishing things were different.
Wanting to make changes in our lives can feel overwhelming but it doesn’t have to be that way. One small step at a time, taken consistently, can land you in a different place in no time. If you’re like me, part of the struggle is choosing ONE goal at a time. Let’s set ourselves up for success this year by choosing a single focus, at least for the first 30 days. Remember how fast last year went by? Thirty days is nothing!
Even though we choose to walk this life with significant others, our journeys are still our own. It’s all personal - personal work, personal journey. You don’t have to be a candle waiting for a lighter to arrive. You have an inner flame at your command. Go deep, get clear, fan the flame. If we choose not to bring our truth to the table with love and clarity, we forfeit the right to complain about how the table is set. Don’t settle for a life worth complaining about.
Blessings on your journey!
